Dumbaya plant (Momordica cochinchinensis (lour) Spreng) is a rare plant from the cucurbitacaeae family with a hard seed structure and difficult to absorb water. In Vitro tissue culture technique is one of the effective methods in propagating dumbaya plants. This study aims to reproduce dumbaya plants so that they do not experience scarcity. This study used a group randomized design A1: MS + 2 ppm 2,4-D + 0.5 ppm BAP; A2 MS + 1.5 ppm 2,4-D + 0.75 ppm BAP and A3 (MS + 1 ppm 2,4-D + 1.5 ppm BAP). Explants used were leaves from seed germination in vitro aged 4 weeks, then induced callus for 8 weeks after planting. Parameters observed were morphology in the form of color and texture of callus. The results showed that the good concentration in giving a response to the growth and development of callus induction was in the A3 treatment of 1 ppm 2,4-D + 1.5 ppm BAP on leaf explants which showed callus morphology in the form of white callus color with friable texture.
