Sistem Pendukung Keputusan Pemilihan Mata Kuliah Mbkm Di Universitas Jabal Ghafur Menggunakan Algoritma C4.5

Abstract

In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology that the Independent Campus Learning Program (MBKM) provides opportunities for 5th, 6th, and 7th semester students to study outside their original study program, namely 1 semester outside the Study Program on campus itself, 2 semesters outside study programs outside institutions (on other campuses), or students can also choose to do internships or practical work both in government agencies and in the business and industrial world. Jabal Ghafur University is a private tertiary institution located in Indra Jaya sub-district, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia. To analyze whether Jabal Ghafur University students are suitable or not in taking one of the eight BMKM programs, one of the most popular ways can be done, namely by creating a Decision Tree model decision support system where this model will provide decision results in the form of IF THEN decision tree logic. ELSE so that it will be easy to recognize student talent patterns with what course parameters these students are suitable for in BMKM. Decision Trees are very popular in decision models by making data conclusions simpler and easier to understand in logical language. The decision tree formation process uses the C4.5 algorithm to process training data. C4.5 is an algorithm used to generate decision trees developed by Ross Quinlan. C4.5 is an extension of Quinlan's previous ID3 algorithm.
